Maria is keen on delivering innovative, sustainable, and thoroughly considered design solutions within the social housing sector, which creatively demonstrate the positive influence this can have for people and place-making. She hugely values the community engagement process and has an in depth understanding of inclusive design.  Maria balances her design and place making work alongside mentoring students and graduates in their training to support them through to qualification.

The Eslöv Civic Centre designed by Hans Asplund, is a source of inspiration for Maria, with its beautiful detailing using neutral colours and natural materials, light filled airy spaces, multi-functional and flexible design. It’s a building at the heart of the community that brings people together!

Maria’s favourite Paddock Johnson project is the office the team work from today. The conversion of the former Port Sunlight school building demonstrates how existing buildings are flexible and can adapt over time to suit changing needs and uses. It’s an inspirational space!
