Alexandra Court comprises a substantial Victorian Villa within the Lark Lane Conservation Area together with two new apartment buildings, one directly opposite the villa on Alexandra Drive, the second at the bottom of the site facing onto Aigburth Road.
The Victorian Villa formerly used as offices has been sensitively converted into 14 high quality apartments for Onward Homes, bringing the building back into use and enhancing the character of the conservation area for years. Land opposite previously used as a surface level car park, now accommodates a contemporary take on the Victorian Villa, infilling a unintended gap in the street scene and providing a 20 new build apartments for Regenda. Fronting Aigburth Road at the opposite end of the site a second new apartment building provides a further 39 apartments also for Regenda, providing much needed affordable accommodation in the area.
The design of the new interventions responds carefully to the character of the area offering different design responses based on their relationship with the conservation area. Consistency is provided through a shared palette of materials.
