Hawthorne Road is a mixed-use scheme alongside the Leeds - Liverpool Canal in Bootle, Liverpool. The site previous had various uses including a bus depo and retail units.
The site is split into two ‘phases’ one of which is an Extra Care which will contain 91 Apartments, a bistro, hairdressers, and other ancillary accommodation, which will be owned by Housing 21. The other phase is 67 dwellings with a mix of houses and maisonettes (walk up flats).
The project has been designed to reflect the urban evolution of the local area where residents typically personalise their terrace houses with various paint colours and door designs to give each house a unique identity.
