The redevelopment project creates new, compliant Gypsy and Traveller pitches, replacing the previous outdated provision. The redeveloped design was progressed through dialogue with the existing families, through a process of communication associated to the changes and improvements that were necessary. The new site layout consists of twelve pitches alongside a communal building containing an office and small meeting room for the residents to use. Each residential pitch contains a brick built amenity block accommodating an open plan kitchen, dining and living space, a bathroom and storage. The amenity blocks are fully inclusive, allowing ease of use for all.
In addition to the amenity building, each pitch provides space for a small static, a trailer/caravan and two car parking spaces with electric vehicle charging. External amenity space is also provided for each family within their pitch, and a communal external play space is located adjacent to the office building.
